Re: The HellfireComms mega-thread of schedules, updates and info
Update:
Time to strike another game from the list!
Beyond Good and Evil, Ocarina of Time, Half Life 2, Pokemon Fire Red, Smash Bros Brawl: Subspace Emissary, GTA: San Andreas, God of War 2, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
- - -
I'll be honest, I don't really find Ocarina of Time to be that interesting of a game. Oh, sure, it's an extremely good game in and of itself, but I prefer Majora's Mask.
As such, I couldn't really bring myself to record any more, thus why it was canceled.
I'll be back again tomorrow to strike off another game, keep on guessin'!

Ocarina of Time is so overated. Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are far better.

Smash Bros will be the easiest to do a marathon playthrough, because they can just swap so easily.

Re: The HellfireComms mega-thread of schedules, updates and info
Updating a bit early today, since I need to explain some stuff. Basically, next week I'll only be striking off a game on Monday and Friday (since on Monday there'll be 2 left, and Friday is the reveal).
Now, onto the elimination!
Update:
Beyond Good and Evil, Ocarina of Time, Half Life 2, Pokemon Fire Red, Smash Bros Brawl: Subspace Emissary, GTA: San Andreas, God of War 2, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.
- - -
San Andreas was canceled for a few reasons. First of all, the commentary wasn't up to the standards I've tried to set over the last year or so (though that's not really the fault of DCE or captainblue). Secondly, internet issues plauged the already stressful commentary process, which just made it a hassle to do.
Finally, musical issues. Yeah, same reason Brutal Legend was put on Blip. I would however love to do San Andreas at some point in the future, as it's one of my favourite games.
Come back on Monday, where I'll remove another game. Keep on guessin'!
EDIT:
Oh, and thank you to the people who have been editing the Tropes page recently, I appreciate it.

Mario and Luigi is probably gonna be crossed off next, unless a different commentator is gonna be with Tom instead of Helldragon.

Re: The HellfireComms mega-thread of schedules, updates and info
Now is when things get real... It's elimination time! Update:Beyond Good and Evil, Ocarina of Time, Half Life 2, Pokemon Fire Red, Smash Bros Brawl: Subspace Emissary, GTA: San Andreas, God of War 2, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. - - - Superstar Saga, like most other playthroughs, was canceled due to schedule issues. However, there is one other factor that led to its cancellation that I need to address here. My old PC had a problem with its USB ports (this is evident in the fact they seemed to control whether or not the damn thing turned on), and would occasionally jolt the Dazzle, leading to massive sound glitches so often. I struggled through this regardless, editing out the glitches or simply re-recording various sections of footage and hoping to God that it'd stay stable enough for me to get done. However, Superstar Saga has a lot of abrutly changing music and sound effects, and editing round that is not easy (as some of you may have seen during its brief run on HellfirePlaythroughs). I felt that it was just too much hassle to deal with such an issue at the current time, and sheleved the playthrough so to speak. Now, I don't have this recording issue with my new PC, but I don't foresee Superstar Saga getting a playthrough anytime soon, mostly because there's a lot of grinding and whatnot. Since I've waffled on a bit, I'll leave you with two bits of misc. information. 1) The play order for the Marathon Comms will go as such: (Canceled game), (new game), (canceled) etc. and so on until I run out of canceled playthroughs I wish to revive. This does not, as should be evident from Superstar Saga, mean that ALL canceled playthroughs will be redone. However, I will say that some widely requested ones will be returning, so stay tuned. 2) I'm getting a new USB stand mic in preparation for Friday (my old one which was used for Brutal Legend randomly malfunctioned), so come Saturday/Sunday there'll be another few hours of content ready to go! After we've recorded our first session on Friday, I'll knock off the penultimate game, revealing the playthrough itself. In the meantime, have some nostalgic music, and I'll see you all later in the week. Have fun guessin'!

Wow, when I called for Half Life 2 or Subspace Emissary to be next I didn't know I was going to be right.

Let's see ... Brawl could mean we could have the three of them playing at the same time.
Half Life 2, on the other hand, you could make jokes about rapping and the headcrab.

Re: The HellfireComms mega-thread of schedules, updates and info
Sorry for the delays, guys. Technical issues (i.e. a lack of a microphone) have pushed back the recording date to this Friday.
Luckily my new USB mic came today, so no more problems like that in future.
